On June 12th, a cargo ship carrying the initial shipment of lithium concentrate from the Arcadia Lithium Project successfully arrived at Port of Beibu Gulf in Guangxi after a challenging 52-day journey across land and sea. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for Huayou in terms of lithium battery project construction, industrial layout, and spatial expansion. It also highlights the official establishment of Port of Beibu Gulf as a crucial hub connecting Huayou Cobalt to both international and domestic markets.
Under the summer sun at Port of Beibu Gulf, the impressive sight of towering cranes and meticulously stacked containers creates a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. On-site operations are progressing smoothly and efficiently. The 1500 tons of lithium concentrate will be transported to Guangxi Base in three separate batches. Following the completion of loading for the first batch, which consists of nearly 500 tons of raw materials, the convoy embarked on their journey together. Along the Lanzhou-Haikou Expressway, a convoy of six large trucks formed a magnificent formation resembling the shape of the number "1" as they majestically made their way towards Huayou Industrial Park in Guangxi.
Throughout its development journey, Huayou Cobalt has consistently adhered to the strategy of " Controlling the Resources Upstream, Developing the Markets Downstream, Enhancing the Capability from Within," aiming to strengthen and optimize its integrated industries and achieve high-quality development. The successful arrival of the initial shipment of lithium concentrate will serve as a strong catalyst for the trial production and full-scale operation of the lithium salt project in Guangxi. It will empower Huayou Cobalt to "aim high to take the lead, break through in quality", further accelerating the progress of project construction and development in the industrial park.
It is worth mentioning that this shipment represents the first batch out of 50, totaling 1,500 tons of lithium concentrate successfully transported by Huayou Cobalt for the Prospect Lithium Project in Zimbabwe, a significant investment endeavor. Additionally, it serves as the first batch of raw materials for the annual production of 50,000 tons of battery-grade lithium salt project at Guangxi Huayou Lithium Industry Co., Ltd. This achievement fully exemplifies Huayou Cobalt's strategic layout in the integrated industry chain of new energy lithium battery materials. Moreover, it provides crucial support for the deepening of their spatial strategy, which centers around being headquartered in Tongxiang, leveraging overseas resources, manufacturing in China, and maintaining a global market presence. This accomplishment holds immense strategic significance.
