As a new-energy manufacturer of lithium battery materials, Huayou has established multiple channels to recycle "urban mine resources" and a guarantee system that secures the supply of renewable resources while actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities. Huayou Recycling and Huayou Power, founded by Huayou in 2017, have been focusing on the cascade utilization and reuse of retired vehicle batteries, and carrying out relevant research, exploration and practice around the "integrated close-loop of new-energy lithium battery industry". 
As of today, Huayou has completed the construction and commissioning of its "dedicated production line for recycling retired traction batteries". In addition, it has also successively initiated the research and application of cascade utilization in various scenarios such as energy storage, integrated storage-charging, reserve power supply and low-speed vehicles, and completed the development and promotion of the integration that covers the preliminary separation of cascade batteries → product R&D, manufacturing and BMS research of core technology→ business market model. 
Toyota Motor Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Toyota), as a global vehicle manufacturer, has been dedicated to building a recycling society, where the dependence on resources can be reduced and global warming can be prevented. Since 2013, Toyota has established a circulation from "vehicle utilization → energy storage for cascade utilization → recycling" in the Ni-MH batteries loaded in its hybrid electric vehicles. As its strategy in the field of electrification and new energy advances, Toyota has also begun an exploration of material recycling and cascade utilization of ternary lithium batteries.

Pilot project overview 


The cutting-edge technology for cascade utilization, adopted by Huayou in this empirical project, can be applied to the fields of cascade utilization of batteries, such as energy storage, storage-charging integration, solar panel based energy storage and reserve power supply, which is a technology with foreseeable technological prospects and application markets. Apart from exploring the promotion and application of related technologies and business models and providing advanced experience in using EV batteries, it will also stay committed to practicing the notion of responsibility that "harmonizes production and ecology and balances economic benefits and social contributions", adhere to green development, and facilitate the mutual improvement of the enterprise and the society while fulfilling social responsibilities.
