Huayou International Summit on Full Life Cycle Utilization of Power Battery for New Energy Vehicles Held in Quzhou

On September 9, 2019 Huayou International Summit on Life Cycle Utilization of Power Battery for New Energy Vehicles was held in Quzhou. A total of 160 guests from 11 countries and regions in Asia, Europe and America attended the summit to discuss the full life cycle utilization of power batteries and look at the future to promote scientific and technological innovation and development of new energy automobile related industries.
 
 
Ma Rong, Former Deputy Director of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission, Liu Genhong, Director of the Management Committee of Quzhou Green Industrial Agglomeration Area and Secretary of the Party Working Committee, and Ren Aili (Elina Rimppi), Deputy Consul General of the Finnish Consulate General in Shanghai addressed the meeting. Many power battery experts, vehicle manufacturers and representatives of power recovery battery manufacturers from overseas and domestic have exchanged technologies and shared experiences.
 
 
On behalf of Quzhou Municipal People's Government, Secretary Liu Genhong expressed warm congratulations on the convening of the summit and extended a warm welcome to all the guests present. Liu Genhong said in his speech that Huayou Quzhou Industrial Park is a new cobalt and lithium materials industrial park jointly planned by Huayou Group and Quzhou City and invested, constructed and operated by Huayou Group. After several years of construction and development, the industrial park has become the largest, most advanced and most competitive cobalt manufacturing base in the world. At present, five companies have settled in Huayou Quzhou Industrial Park, which has formed an industry chain integrating the whole life cycle from the recycling of retired new energy power batteries to the production of new energy power battery materials. With the increasing number of new energy vehicles in China, the amount of discarded batteries for new energy vehicles will also explode. The Party Working Committee and the Administrative Committee of the  Agglomeration Area will, as always, provide more thoughtful, meticulous, high-quality and efficient services for Quzhou Huayou's green development and recycling, strive to create the most favorable development environment for enterprises, and support enterprises to make new contributions to promote Quzhou's local economic development.
 
 
Ma Rong, Former Deputy Director of the Environmental Resources Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, said in his speech that the theme of this meeting is the full life cycle utilization of new energy vehicle power batteries, promoting the recycling of new energy vehicle power batteries, which is conducive to protecting the environment and social security, promoting the recycling of resources, pushing the healthy and sustainable development of China's new energy vehicle industry, and is of great significance for accelerating green development, building ecological civilization and beautiful China. Deputy Director Ma Rong affirmed that Huayou Cobalt has set up such a broad platform for technological exchange, Huayou has made achievements in recycling and has actively explored recycling. In combination with the current development situation and new phenomena in the industry development, Ma Rong pointed out that under the situation of sustained, rapid and steady growth of new energy vehicles and the initial scale and diversified development of the waste power battery recycling industry, the industry needs in-depth thinking and improvement in the three aspects of green and intelligent technology and equipment for comprehensive utilization of retired power batteries, continuous improvement of the power battery recycling system and recycling market, and urgent need to improve the relevant standard system for environmental pollution prevention. At the same time, she said, driven by the continuous and intensive policies issued by the state, and through the efforts and close cooperation of car companies, battery recycling companies and other related enterprises, the power battery recycling industry will soon mature in the near future, making new energy vehicles more green and environmentally friendly!
 
 
In her speech, Ren Aili, Deputy Consul General of Finland's Consulate General in Shanghai, said that the Finnish government attaches great importance to recycling and environmental protection, fully affirms the efforts and practices made by Chinese and Chinese enterprises in this regard, and hopes that the two countries can strengthen exchanges on key technologies of resource recycling, establish closer cooperation and jointly promote each other's development.
 
 
Bao Wei, General Manager of Zhejiang Huayou Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., presided over the forum and expressed welcome and gratitude on behalf of Huayou Cobalt industry to leaders at all levels, distinguished guests and friends from all walks of life who came to the summit. Bao Wei said that the summit aims to provide a platform to study the full life cycle utilization of new energy vehicle power batteries, deepen exchanges and consensus, deepen industrial exchanges and cooperation, and promote the healthy development of the industry. At the same time, it introduces and shares experiences from three aspects: the basic situation of Huayou Cobalt industry, the background of the recycling of retired power batteries, and the life cycle utilization practice of Huayou new energy vehicle power batteries.
 
 
At the meeting, Huayou circulated the flexible automatic dismantling and echelon sorting line, safety management system and traceability tracking system of retired power batteries with the highest degree of automation in China. At the same time, Mr. Bao said: Huayou Recycling will continue to enhance its core competitiveness, strive for meticulous, efficient and environmentally friendly recycling and safe echelon utilization with economic value, build a complete recycling system for retired power storage batteries, take practicing responsibility and recycling resources as its business philosophy, provide flexible recycling cooperation modes according to the actual needs of partners, advocate the concept of co-construction and sharing, and is willing to work with the industry to establish industry standards, go hand in hand, build a world-class recycling ecology and set industry benchmarks.
 
 
After the summit, the participants also visited some workshops in Quzhou Huayou Industrial Park, focusing on the automatic dismantling workshop of Huayou Recycling retired power batteries. They also exchanged and discussed the technologies of Huayou Recycling such as safe management of retired power batteries, dismantling, testing and sorting, harmless treatment, echelon utilization and traceability management system of retired power batteries.
